Presented in both English and Tut, LALOVAVI is the first opera to emerge from Cincinnati Opera’s Black Opera Project, a commissioning initiative dedicated to uplifting Black stories and creators. This visionary work places Black imagination, futurism and cultural heritage at the center of the operatic stage. LALOVAVI invites audiences into a universe where tradition meets tomorrow and love lights the path to freedom.
